Due to a minor incident, my L4-L5 spinal discs were bulged and herniated. No pain-specialist or physiotherapist or ortho could solve this problem for 3 years. At the age of 30, my health and lifestyle deteriorated because of an unanticipated incident. There were a lot of other familial issues in my life too which were stressful and slowly killing me.
In the first week that I joined the health reset program, i could see visible changes in my appearance, my mood and most importantly my energy. By the first month, the constant pain I had felt in my lower back disappeared. I learnt how to BREATHE correctly, how to handle any stressful situation, how to calm my mind and get control of my life. I finally gained clarity on how to lead my life.

My first impression of Yoga was that it is all about flexing the body. However, I was given simple asanas by Guruji that triggered my ego; later, I realised Yoga is much more than flexing the body. Guruji is kind but strict, he never forces or compels us on anything, but he is strict with practices as they hold such potential and result in it. The way Guruji connects Yoga with Spirituality and Science is so beautiful that we slowly realise it with experience.
The practices of Guruji connect with body and mind and beyond that, which touches the essence of our mind in a blissful state that I have personally experienced with his practices. Some perks of his techniques, through which I have improved my focus and attention, and to my surprise, I became a good reader with absolute concentration only after I met Guruji; until then, I was struggling to read. Everything works only when you practise what Guruji says, not just attending classes. I’m blessed with a great Guruji who is simple, down to earth who perfected my perception of life, which is a fundamental aspect of Yoga.

Arvind sir’s Aram Yoga is a place where you can go and learn the art of mindful living.
I would practise yoga myself seeing online videos before joining aram yoga. But after becoming his student, I realised all the mistakes I had been doing the past years. He taught me the right way and the right sequence of doing yoga and pranayama, which I feel is the most important point for anyone starting yoga. When I first started Yoga with Aravind sir, he asked me my goals on why I wanted to start Yoga. I replied that my goal was to improve my flexibility and get in shape. But I didn’t know that Yoga is much more than just asanas.
‘yoga is the calming down of the fluctuations/pattern of mind’ (Yoga Chitta vritti nirodhah ), as Patanjali sage says. This fact is the first thing that Aravind sir taught to me.
